The Heart of Heritage

This is where we look back at the wonderful moments we share as a church family. Here, you will find photo highlights, community stories, and joyful recaps from our recent gatherings, fellowship meals, and special ministry events.

Whether you were right there in the room with us or want to catch up on what you missed, we are so glad you stopped by. We hope these snapshots and stories remind you of the love, laughter, and faith that make our church feel like home.

Operation Christmas Shoebox Packing Party: A Wonderful Success!

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the Heritage First Church of God community came together for an unforgettable Operation Christmas Shoebox Packing Party filled with food, fun, and fellowship. Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of our volunteers, we packed 200 shoeboxes to help bring joy to children around the world this Christmas season.

Everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal together, thanks to Chick-fil-A’s generous donation of chicken sandwiches and Heritage First Church of God’s provision of chips, drinks, and cookies. The shared meal made our evening of service and fellowship even more special.

Thank you to everyone who donated, packed boxes, served food, and shared in the fellowship. Together, we made a wonderful difference!

Operation Christmas Shoeboxes is a ministry that shares God's love with children through gift-filled shoeboxes. Each box is thoughtfully packed with toys, school supplies, personal-care items, and other gifts, offering a tangible expression of care and hope.

As these shoeboxes begin their journey, we pray for their safe delivery and for every person involved in transporting and distributing them. We also pray that each child who receives a box will experience joy, hope, and the love of Jesus.

“Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14

Fueling the Pack: Heritage First Church of God Hosts West Ridge Wolves for BBQ Dinner!

What an incredible Thursday night we had here at Heritage First Church of God! On August 27th, our church family had the absolute honor of hosting the players and coaches of the West Ridge High School football team for a special community dinner. (Be sure to check out the photos below)!

Good Food and Great Fellowship

To help fuel the Wolves for their big week, our kitchen crew cooked up a massive feast. We served loaded BBQ sandwiches with all the fixins', alongside the team’s absolute favorite—creamy, delicious macaroni and cheese.

Of course, no Heritage First Church of God dinner is complete without dessert! The players filled up on homemade cookies, brownies, and a crowd favorite: the absolute best banana pudding in the region.

A Message on Teamwork

Before dinner, Pastor William stepped up to share an encouraging message with the team. He spoke about the true meaning of teamwork, pointing out how looking out for one another and working toward a common goal matters both on the football field and in life. It was a wonderful moment of connection and inspiration for the young athletes.

A Winning Weekend!

We are thrilled to report that the Wolves went on to win their game on Friday night! While we know their hard work and talent won the game, we would like to think our BBQ and macaroni and cheese gave them a little extra motivation!

Huge Thanks to Our Volunteers

This amazing night wouldn't have been possible without our incredible church volunteers. From the pitmasters and cooks to the servers and cleanup crew, thank you for working so hard to make this a special, welcoming night for our local students. You truly showed the hands and feet of Jesus to our community!
